Course objective: Subjet objective is to create a systematic view on communication systems of current automobiles with the focus on the actual and perpective automotive communication systems used in Europe.

Concise plan: During the study of the subject student will be acquainted with the basic principles of signal transfer in automobiles. Automobiles present the front line of the applications of the latest findings of science and technology. This fact is also related to the growing complexity of mutual communication of the car components. During the course student will gain the knowledge about basic signals and their properties, which are used in car communication systems, about the means of their transmission, as well as about the ways of protection of those signals against channel impairments. The core of the subject consists in the main classes of automotive communication systems and their representatives, as well as on the automotive audio, multimedia, navigation and information systems, and on the new trends in the development of the automotive communication and information systems.
